Fall Break, my birthday and NYC

Two weeks ago, after a whirlwind week of midterms, assignments, applications and final exams there was Fall Break!

Finishing school related stuff on thursday 9th of october, a few of us were still in Ithaca and decided to celebrate by going out. The night entailed drinks, shots, pool and a lot of fun!

Early the next day I jumped on a bus to NYC, to celebrate Fall Break, my birthday, and finally see my boyfriend for the first time in 2 months.

We stayed at a hotel in midtown and spent the weekend sightseeing, eating a lot of good food, and celebrating my 26th birthday and his 30th at Colicchio and Sons. 8 courses + a wine package left us super full and very happy.

Time flies... when you have fun

So.... long time no see again!
It's already October!

Don't know what happened - apart from school-work and a lot of fun

Burger King Birthday 17.09.2014

Clara REALLY wanted to go to Burger King - and we all went together to celebrate her recent birthday!

Niagara Falls 21.09.2014

Organized by the ISSO (International Student Services Office) we went on a trip to Niagara Falls. Located in Buffalo, NY - it was a 3 hour bus ride.

Arriving - the view is pretty breathtaking!

Very windy!

Getting ready to get on "The Maiden of the Mist" - the boat into the falls

As you can see - i brought rain boots. Still didn't keep me from getting soaked by the waterfall.

Such lovely weather! 20 degrees celsius and sun - all day!

A small video from the Horseshoe Falls. At the end I am yelling "LOVELY" - in norwegian!

Coralie's Birthday Party 27.09.2014

Yeah - there's a lot of parties going on... :)

Coralie organized a really nice excursion and full-day event for her birthday;

First a trek to Taughannock falls

"Pronounced Tuh-GA-nick. The falls’ name is believed derived from the Algonquian Taconic (“in the trees”) or Taghkanic (after a Lenape chieftain killed in battle nearby). Taughannock falls carves a 400ft deep gorge through layers of sandstone, shale and limestone that were once the bed of an ancient sea. With a 215 foot plunge, this waterfall stands three stories taller than Niagara Falls." Visitithaca.com

A nice walk though the autumn leaves, a quite dry river-bed, culminating in beautiful falls!

After the walk - we went for wine-tasting at The Crystal Lake Cafe. we tried 3 white wines and 3 red wines. In addition we tried 3 blueberry wines.

The birthday girl - far to the left! Coralie, Clara and Stig

Me and Luis drinkin blueberry wine

After the wine-tastin we all went to Aladdin's in Collegetown - for some mediterranean food. I went home after that - but the rest partied away the night...

Buttermilk Falls 28.09.2014

More falls??? Yes.

Ithaca is known for its gorges and falls. And it's beautiful.

A short trip to Buttermilk falls on yet another gorgeous fall-day.
We walked the 20 minute trail to the top - and down again. A quite steep and sweat-inducing trip - but worth the view!

Long shutter-speed and a dog ;)

Long shutter-speed and Johan ;)

Cornell Vs. Yale 04.10.2014

Lastly - a football game. We only attended the first period - but had some fun seeing real football in action.

Sadly Cornell lost 51-13 - but they still had an enthusiastic marching band and cheerleaders.

Not the best weather....

Nowadays I am drowning (a bit) in exams, final presentations and homework - but next friday I have fall break! I will finally see my boyfriend again, celebrate my 26th birthday and have tons of fun in New York City.
